These real fruit popsicles are made with lemonade and filled with fresh strawberries, blueberries and kiwi. They are sprinkled with tajin, a Mexican fruit seasoning, for added flavor. Quick and easy to make for a refreshing summer treat.
I love summer! It is my favorite season of the year. I lived in New York City for many years and although the change of the seasons is pretty and all, there is really nothing like a New York summer.
My summers in New York were fun. We would spend our entire days outside and organize family and friends cookouts on the backyard practically every other day of the week enjoying refreshing snacks like these real fruit popsicles with lemonade and tajin.
These popsicles are super delicious, and they’re made with real fruit, so you can feel good about that! They only take 10 minutes to prepare and they are perfect for kids and adults.

How To Make Real Fruit Popsicles with Lemonade
To make the popsicles, I sliced some fruit and added it to the popsicle mold. I then went ahead and poured fruit punch juice and lemonade into the molds.
I let it freeze overnight and pulled them out at the moment to serve.
To make them even more interesting, right before handing everyone their own, I sprinkled them with Tajin and set up some extra in a small plate in case anyone wanted more.
What is Tajin?
Tajin is the brand name for a Mexican seasoning consisting primarily of chili peppers, lime, and salt. The condiment is used on drinks like micheladas or sprinkled on fruits like mango, apples, or watermelon. It is quite tasty and gives the fruit a salty and slightly spicy flavor.
Tajin is not something that I ate growing up. It sure isn’t something that is popular in the Dominican Republic. We mostly season our fruits with lime juice and salt. But I am sure that if my abuela had ever tried Tajin, she would definitely approve.
How do you need to freeze the popsicles?
I find that the popsicles need to be frozen for around 4 hours, but if you can, it’s best to leave them overnight. They are so quick to prep, I like to do it the night before I plan to serve them.
Can you use frozen fruit?
Absolutley! Using frozen fruit cuts right down on your prep time, so it’s perfect to use if you are in a rush, or if the fruits are out of season. I love the combination of kiwi, blueberries and strawberries, but feel free to experiment and mix up the fruits to find your perfect mix!
How long do homemade popsicles last?
These real fruit popsicles will keep well in the freezer for up to 6 months. I often make a double (or triple!) batch to enjoy throughout the summer.
Recipe Notes and Tips
- Don’t fill the popsicles all the way to the top, leave a little room for the lemonade to expand when freezing.
- To remove the popsicles from the molds, run them under warm water for a couple of seconds. Not too long though, or the popsicles will start to melt!
