Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 cups baby spinach (60 g)
  • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks, fresh or frozen (80 g)
  • 1/2 banana, fresh or frozen (60 g)
  • 3/4 cup pineapple juice (180 ml)
  • 1/4 cup water or milk (60 ml)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (2.5 ml)
  • 1 cup ice cubes (140 g), optional (omit if using frozen fruit)

Instructions

  • Add the baby spinach, pineapple, banana, pineapple juice, water or milk, vanilla extract, and ice (if using) to a blender.
  • Blend until smooth and fully combined, about 1 to 2 minutes depending on your blender.
  • Taste and adjust consistency if needed by adding more liquid for a thinner smoothie or more frozen fruit or ice for a thicker texture.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Blend for at least 1-2 minutes to ensure a smooth texture with no leafy bits.
  • For a creamier smoothie, use milk instead of water such as dairy, almond, coconut, or oat milk.
  • Using frozen pineapple or banana will create a thicker, colder smoothie without needing ice.
  • Add more ice only if using fresh fruit and you prefer a frostier texture.
