- 1 cup fresh cherries , pitted
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup ice
- whipped cream for topping (optional)
In a blender, mix cherries, almond milk, protein powder, chia seeds, oats, cocoa powder and ice until smooth.
Serve and top with whipped cream as desired.
- Blend the smoothie for at least a minute if you have a high speed blender, and longer for a normal speed blender. This will ensure that your cherry smoothie doesn't have any lumps in it.
- I don't feel like this needs a sweetener, but you can add in a little honey or maple syrup if you prefer yours sweeter.
