How to make Apple Empanadas

Desserts never tasted so good! These delicious apple empanadas are a sweet take on one of my favorite Latin recipes and make for a great dessert or sweet treat that your family and friends will love!

- Apples

- Cornstarch

- Brown Sugar

- Cinnamon

- Nutmeg

- Vanilla, etc.

STEP 1

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

STEP 2

Add apples, spices, and cornstarch into a small pot. Over medium-high heat, cook the apples until they are tender.

STEP 4

Roll out pastry dough and cut into circles.

STEP 5

Add apple filling onto the center of each dough round. Brush egg around edges of each round.

STEP 6

Fold one side of the dough over and press the edges together using a fork or by pinching the sides together until it's fully sealed.

STEP 7

Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper and place the empanadas on top. Brush egg wash on top.

STEP 8

Cut a few small slits on the top of each empanada with a short knife to let the steam out while baking.

Bake until the pastry is golden, for about 10-12 minutes. Let cool before serving.
